Stock Soups Sauce

Add the chicken and saute over moderate heat for about 5 minutes or until browned. Remove and set aside. Add the onions and saute until golden. Return chicken to stockpot with 1/4 cup of water. Cover and simmer over very low heat for 20 minutes or until chicken has given off its liquid. Add carrot, celery, remaining water and bouquet garni. Lab Contract Idea

I am about to start preaching to the Chour.  Students sometimes don't remember that my lab is a classroom. They think it's there own personal kitchen that they can do whatever they want. Wrong. This year, I have had all students sign a lab behavior contract. I have a series of consented when they do not follow their end of the bargain Below is a screen shot of my lab contract.    Consequences 1st Offense is a warning with a call home. 2nd Offense is being held from lab 3rd Offense is a formal right up and they are not allowed into lab for the next lab. 

Basic Informations on Grains

Grains are SEEDS . They are packets of nutrients and energy for the plant.....and us! There are two types of grains: True Cereal Grains - are the seeds that come from grasses such as wheat, millet, rice, barley, oats, rye, triticale, sorghum, and maize (corn).   Pseudo-Cereal Grains  -are seeds from shrubs or bushy plants, not grasses.  Grains can be broken down into three edible parts: 1. The BRAN , the seed's outer fiber packed outer skin 2. The GERM,  the seeds reproductive part. It is the seeds embryo. It is the core of the seed that has the capability of sprouting a new plant. The germ is super rich in nutrients! It contains antioxidants, B vitamins, vitamin E, the minerals zinc and magnesium, some protein and fat. 3.   The Endosperm is the germs food supply!
