The more you review and assess students the more they will learn the material. Your assessments can be done at home and students can use their notes. You can give students assessment to show them where they are lacking mastery. HAVE FUN WITH YOUR ASSESSMENTS

Directions: Have your students pick on of the following food-borne illnesses causing pathogens: Hepatitis A, Norovirus, Salmonella Thypi, Salmonella spp, Ecoli, Staph, Listeria, Shigella Spp, Botulism, Ciguatera Toxin, Histamine Fish Toxin. Then have them create a poster of an object or objects that reminds them of the pathogens causes, symptoms or prevention. The name of the pathogen must be incorporated into the poster.

Alternative Formative Assessment Idea
Quizlet allows you to print the flash cards that you create. Have the students cut them out and glue them to a piece of poster board or bulletin board paper. Group assessments will open the door to more discussion about the material.
